Know Anything About Belconnen's Heritage?

7 December 2009

The Conservation Council ACT Region is putting together a booklet entitled 'Belconnen's Treasures - a guide to interpreting the region's heritage'. The project is assisted by the ACT Government through the ACT Heritage Grants Program. The booklet will describe both cultural and natural heritage places and features of significance to the region, the Territory or the nation, with a particular focus on places that are most interesting to visit and interpret and those that are most special.

You can help us in the following ways.

Let the Conservation Council know which of Belconnen's treasures you believe deserve to be featured in the booklet. What places and values most need protection?

Lend to the Conservation Council your books/pamphlets detailing Belconnen's history, heritage and natural values. (You will get them back of course.)

Share your experiences with Belconnen's heritage. Are you involved in protecting a heritage place in the region? Did you live in the region before it was developed as one of Canberra's 'towns' or in the early days of its development?

Let the Conservation Council know if you have photos (historical or contemporary) of Belconnen's heritage places, of nature reserves, of wildflowers and so on.
