No Further Traces of Covid-19 in Sewage Testing

4 February 2021

ACT Health has reported no further traces of Covid-19 in sewage testing at the Belconnen waste water testing location. The Belconnen waste water testing location covers waste water from all Belconnen suburbs as well as Hall village.

On 29 January, the Canberra Times reported that traces of coronavirus had been detected by ACT Health in a routine sewage test on 27 January in the ACT for the first time, from the Belconnen waste water testing location. This detection prompted calls by ACT Health for Canberrans to get tested for COVID-19 if they experience even mild symptoms.

Information on COVID-19 symptoms, testing and prevention is available from ACT Health at 02 6207 7244 or www.covid19.act.gov.au/
