Survey and Utilities Location for Storm Water Infrastructure in Hall

13 November 2024

You may have seen various paint markings and star pickets wrapped in orange plastic lattice around Hall Village. There is also a "vacuator" crew working around the village.

All of this is part of the detailed design work, together with the surveying, for storm water infrastructure that the Hall Progress Association has been advocating with the ACT government for some two-and-a-half years. This detailed design work involves confirming the location of other infrastructure including the gas mains, sewerage, water supply, NBN, etc.

As the design work being done is comprehensive and recognises the multiple dimensions of the storm water issues affecting Hall, the surveyors are likely to working in the roads and lanes around the village as well as surrounding areas including the woodlands, horse paddocks and Halls Creek.

The Progress Association has secured the commitment from Major Projects Canberra that the ACT Government staff and consultants will meet with the wider Hall community of residents, businesses and other stakeholders in the coming months.

We are very grateful for the support of Yerrabi MLAs Leanne Castley and James Milligan in our efforts. The Progress Association will continue to advocate with the ACT Government until the required works are completed with a particular focus on the 2025-2026 ACT Budget.
