Hall gains Heritage Grant
7 September 2009
On Monday 7 September the Hall and District Progress Association signed a Deed of Grant agreement for $8,745.00 from the 2009-10 ACT Heritage Grants Program for our project Hall School House Museum – Conservation Management Plan and Volunteer Training Materials.
This Grant is a recognition by the ACT Government of the unique and valuable nature of the museum, its historical contents and the Hall community's desire to preserve and exhibit the School House Museum and its artefacts.
The team who worked on the grant application are to be congratulated on its success and the way in which a broad range of support was gathered from many areas of expertise.
The grant will facilitate the preparation of a future management plan for the museum and a series of written training modules for volunteers. The modules will provide information on management and preservation of the building, its contents and related artefacts and ways in which they can be displayed for best advantage.
The outcome of this work will go a long way towards developing the museum as a special and unique point of educational, family and historical interest as well as a Village tourist attraction.
