Pavilion makeover imminent.

28 December 2009

A major refurbishment of the Hall Pavilion will begin next Monday, 4th January. It is expected that the work will be completed by the end of February. The contractors are under pressure to ensure that it will be available for the National Sheep Dog Trials which start on March 9th.

Initial visions for an extension had to be wound back when it was realised that asbestos sheeting would have to be removed from the walls and ceiling - a major expense, but we can still look forward to a major upgrade.

This will include renewal of the kitchen and toilet areas, re-sheeting of walls and ceiling (including a special acoustic treatment for the ceiling), installation of 'on-demand' gas heating, and repair of damaged sections of the the floor.

In preparation for the asbestos removal, project coordinator Brian Banyard and other volunteers have move all the furniture and other items into a shipping container.

Any inquiries about the pavilion can be directed to the Association.
