Add a quick-witted resident, a kind cafe owner, and the Hall 'Bootstrap Brigade' - what do you get? A fine supply of tables and chairs for the Hall community!
Hall resident David Fussell was dining a couple of days ago at the Asian Café in Civic. Owner Dennis O'Young mentioned that he would be refurnishing on Saturday - and disposing of his existing tables and chairs. David rang Alastair Crombie to see if the Progress Association might be interested............. The rest, as they say, is history.
On Saturday morning the Bootstrap Brigade (Alastair, Tony Morris and Bob Richardson) headed off to the Asian Cafe in West Row, and quickly roped up around 120 chairs and some 30 tables - all good solid 'restaurant' style items. For also taking away all the packaging from his new furniture, Dennis presented us with some surplus cutlery!
