A great 'Grand Friends Day' at Preschool

Fourteen children and family members took a trip back in time for 'Grand Friends Day' at the Preschool on Wednesday. The 'oldies' invited along were not just grandparents, but any adults in the children's life. Village elder Bevis Brown was there with his grandson, Toby Palethorpe.
The children played games from the distant past - egg and spoon races, hop scotch, hoops, and other games using items from the School Museum, which was open for the occasion.
A highlight for all was the story telling by 'Naughty Lizzie' in the School Museum. Naughty Lizzie (aka Elizabeth Burness - writer, story-teller, artist, local historian) kept the children transfixed with her tales of schooling at Hall a hundred years ago.
A large gathering, a warm and sunny day, plenty of interest from the media.....Well done Julie and all those who helped make this day such a success!
